EricDress is quite popular with shoppers worldwide, with thousands of visitors from over 230 countries logging on everyday. According to Alexa.com, EricDress is among the 30,000 most-visited websites in the world. Although its selection isn't quite as large as some of its older competitors, such as Choies or Romwe, the two-year-old company still manages to compete with them in terms of daily visitors and sales. Specializing in Wedding Dresses, EricDress punches above its weight in quality and selection of the wedding gowns it has on offer. 

Experience with EricDress

Our first impression of EricDress was that its very well laid out and easy to navigate. Despite the large number of products on offer, we found EricDress.com's catalogue system intuitive and we had not problem finding the products we wanted to order. Of course we made a few test orders to try them out for you!

EricDress advertises very quick delivery times for its relatively low shipping costs, however almost all of our products arrived a bit later than initially promised. We were told to expect our items within 15 business days (a maximum 7 business-day processing time plus a shipping time of 8 business days), but they didn't arrive on our doorstep until 20 work days (almost 5 weeks) after we had placed our order. Of course, that's still not bad in comparison with some other Chinese webshops. In the end we were able to overlook the late delivery, also because our items were very carefully packaged and very well labeled for customs so we had no problem with customs. If you've ever dealt with a poorly-labeled package at customs you know how much of a headache it can be, and we were thankful that we didn't have to deal with it. Our undershirt and formal skirt were not of the same quality as the clothes we had received from Romwe, but they were also significantly cheaper and we actually found them to be a better deal overall.

Payment

Once you've chosen your favorite dress(es), EricDress gives you the option to "Sign In with PayPal" (ie., use your PayPal information to automatically make yourself an account) or to make an EricDress account the traditional way. Once you've done that, you have the option of paying with PayPal, Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover), or Wire Transfer. Less common payment methods such as Skrill MoneyBookers, Web Money, and Western Union are also accepted depending on the item and the delivery location.

Shipping Costs and Delivery Times

EricDress gives you multiple shipping methods to choose from which, depending on your patience level, range in price from "Acceptable" to "It Costs More than the Stuff I'm Ordering!!". In general, you'll have the choice between "Super Savings" (5-8 business days), "Standard Shipping" (4-8 business days), and Expedited Shipping (2-5 business days). Naturally, the quickest method is also the most expensive and, considering our experience with late deliveries, you'd do well to add an extra 5-7 days to any delivery estimates.

EricDress and Customs

EricDress is one of the better Chinese WebShops in terms of how well it packages and labels its shipments for customs, but that doesn't mean a little planning shouldn't be a part of your ordering process. Even with properly packed and declared articles, customs can still stop packages for any number of reasons so it's worth it to check out your country's rules surrounding imports and international mail.

For shipments entering the US, extra taxes and fees on your product are possible. Not every item is taxed when entering the country, and the majority are only subject to a nominal processing fee of between $2 and $9 in the case of a random customs stop. The amount to be paid, however, can vary widely depending on the product and how it’s sent. If you are concerned about your item, or are planning to order goods in excess of $500, it is worth it to check with the Customs Office at the port of entry to confirm any extra fees.

Any extra taxes or duties on your shipment will either be paid at your door when the mailman drops it off, or the package may be held at your local post office. In which case, you will need to go pick it up and pay any applicable fees in person.

Returns

EricDress features a relatively average return policy. You only have 7 days after delivery to report and return Wedding Gowns, Bridesmaids dresses, and Mother-of-the-Bride dresses, but EricDress allows you to return any wedding accessories, Formal Wear, and shoes within 30 days of delivery. As per usual, any returned items must be unworn, undamaged, and in the original packaging. You will need to cover any return shipping costs yourself, however.

Special Features

EricDress features a particularly useful "Ships in 24 Hours" tab which features all products that will process and ship within a day to cut down on your wait time. This is particularly useful if you need your dress in a hurry, although most of these products are precut casualwear dresses and shirts so you may be stuck paying for Expedited Shipping in case you need a bridesmaids dress by next week. Also worth mentioning is EricDress' Clearance Zone, where you can score some pretty good prices on products.

Some of the clothes on EricDress are a bit more expensive than on other sites but, with the presence of multiple customer reviews, we found most of the stuff to be a great value - with good general quality and accurate measurements to boot.

Conclusion

With good quality clothes at fair prices and with many customer reviews, EricDress differentiates itself from some of its Chinese competitors by offering a very well laid-out and user-friendly site that will feel familiar even to online-shopping novices. Especially if you're looking for something to wear to a wedding or another formal occasion, EricDress is certainly worth a look - as long as you can handle waiting a few weeks for your order. Between the multiple customer reviews on items and the helpful Consultants available via Live Chat, you should have no problem finding an appropriate dress. We also appreciated the straightforward - if somewhat unforgiving - return policy adding an extra feeling of security when placing our order. All in all, a good webshop.
